Run
04:23
|
|||
Did you find that first in line
Was any less satisfied?
When looking through these eyes that you’ve found
Or can I second guess
All these spaces you’ve seen
It feels like I’ve been tied into the ground
So we run, run from the others
And take this night wherever we may roam
So we’ve gone, gone to find each other
We made our time but now we’ll be alone
Did you find it helped this time?
Painting on your smile disguise
You always looked so pure in your dress
Or can I second guess
All those thoughts in your head
Waiting by the road we used before
So we run, run from the others
And take this night wherever we may roam
So we’ve gone, gone to find each other
We made our time but now we’ll be alone
And so I run, run from the others
They painted me and threw away my home
So I’ve gone, gone to find another
And spend my nights in silence on my own

Youth
02:20
|
|||
By late of hour, she’d heard the truth
Belated flowers on evening news
But yesterday felt so good
The golden youth chased from you
On city bells, she counts the moon
With other lives and simple views
He’ll stay the same but ever new
The golden youth chased from you

Winds
04:47
|
|||
Seat yourself beside yourself
The face you thought had all but gone away
Another day in second place
Another note I’d hope to hear you play
This window seat without a view
A resting heart will stop and think of you
To drink for one and pay for two
To stagger down a trophied avenue
Winds will carry over me
And drag these words out to a distant town
I’m not the one you’ve seen before
I’m not the kind that you would want around
You ask what I have asked myself
But ask again, this page will never end
I split before a paper seam
Erased before my sentence has been penned
Winds will take the best of me
To steal my breath and then blow back for more
See for me, the other side
And see that I should make it to the door

Keeping
04:38
|
|||
Up and gone
Lost in the grip of another one
Locked in tides
Adrift on the flow of your insides
And how does it feel
Unable to know if you’re real
Wait and see
Try to be
Keeping with me
Start to divide
Space we relate to the other side
Question to be
With fading resentment we hope to see
And yet we’re alone now
It beggars belief where I go now
And I’ll find out
If rain throws the shadows of my doubt
Wait and see
Try to be
Keeping with me
Here looking off to the shores where I parted
The blackness of sand, burning coals and their songs from
Insensitive spirits bleached yellow and gold at
Their fingers, so fickle and worn from the hold of
You’re locked in an oak-riddled, seafaring customer
Selling a soul for a badge and a colour
The man is an anchor, unyielding and steady
His teeth take the blame when his heart is too heavy
And I…
Wait and see
Try to be
Keeping with me
Wait and see
Try to be
Keeping with me

Mirrors
05:31
|
|||
The streetlight canvas is nearly filled
Washed with bodies among the mirrors
And movies to echo out the kill
A movement without a clear direction
Taking advice from nature’s pill
It’s just a moment bounced off the ceiling
Today can wait for another
A salty stream is no place for hiding
His touch is foreign to your cheek
Rusted plates beneath your fingers
Count to one and back down to me
A coin will cover the sun this evening
So grab your coat, it’s nearly three
They’re jumping fire through rings of cities
But who’s watching cloud-trippers anyway?
The streetlight canvas is nearly filled
Washed with bodies among the mirrors
And movies to echo out the kill

Rome
03:19
|
|||
There’s room in the back of it all
They’re telling me
Obviously
The moon lifts it’s face to the sound
Of frozen feet
The punishing beat
The switch light is out of my reach
It’s bowing its head
In prayer for the dead
A man counting sand as it falls
Like Rome to the sea
Obviously
To free-fall means nothing to me
Like Rome to the sea
I’m finally free
